Adjunct Professor

Prof Richmond is Chair of Sydney Olympic Park Authority board of directors. He was formerly director general of the Olympic Co-ordination Authority and responsible for much of the development of facilities for the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Prof Charles Areni (Marketing And Consumption)
Chair of the Discipline of Marketing

Prof Areni's research focuses on environmental psychology and marketing. He is currently supervising a research project on sociological and psychological aspects of sport consumption in Australia.

Dr Rohan Miller (Racing Industry, Gambling)
Lecturer in the Discipline of Marketing

Dr Miller has published research relating to the racing industry, and conducted a research profile related to experiential consumption (mostly related to alcohol and gambling).

Tilda Khoshaba (Trade Unionism in Sport)
PhD Student, Work and Organisational Studies Group

Ms Khoshaba is a lecturer at the University of Western Sydney and a PhD student in Sydney's School of Business. Her PhD relates to Trade Unionism in Sport; particularly in Rugby League. She has written a number of conference papers on the area as well as submitted papers to referred journals. Tilda is also the current Secretary of the Rugby League Professionals Association (RLPA).

A/Prof Tracy Taylor (Sports Management)
Head of Graduate School of Business

Associate Professor Tracy Taylor is Head of the Graduate School of Business. Tracy's expertise is in sport management, with a particular focus on leadership development and succession management. Tracy has published research in a number of areas which include; inclusion and equity, human resource management; and diversity management. She is the author of many academic papers in refereed journals and has co-authored the text, Celebrating Inclusion and Diversity in Leisure.

Tracy is a well known management consultant and trainer, and regularly presents courses in the areas of management skills, leadership skills, and team building as well as general sport management. Clients have included diverse private sector enterprises, both domestic and international, as well as public sector and non-profit organisations.

Teaching Areas: Sport Management; Venue Management; Applied Leadership and Strategy; and Sport Event Management.

Research Areas: Diversity management, sport event management, terrorism and sport. Tracy is currently (2004-2005) undertaking an ARC and ARU funded research project on volunteer management practices in community rugby.

Mr John Allen (Event Management)
Lecturer

Johnny Allen is the Foundation Director and current Business Development Manager of the Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM), a centre devoted to training and research in event management at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He currently teaches in the Master of Management in Event Management and Executive Certificate in Event Management programs at UTS, and is co-author of Festival and Special Event Management (John Wiley and Sons, Brisbane 2002) and The Regional Event Management Handbook (ACEM, Sydney 2002). Johnny was Special Events Manager for Tourism New South Wales from 1996 -1998, where he devised and implemented an Events Strategy for the State of New South Wales on behalf of the State Government. He set up and serviced a whole-of-government Major Events Advisory Committee, as well as supervising the Regional Flagship Events and Sydney Hallmark Events Programs.

Mr Stephen Frawley (Sports Marketing)
Lecturer

From 1998 to the end of 2000 Stephen Frawley worked in the sport competition program for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committees. Currently Stephen is completing a Phd at UTS examining the delivery and management of the sport competition program at the Sydney Olympic Games. Stephen has a degree in Leisure Studies and a Master of Arts (Sociology) degree, which were both undertaken at the University of New South Wales. In recent years Stephen has taught sport and leisure studies at UNSW, UWS, UTS, Charles Sturt University and the University of Sydney.

Teaching Areas: sport management; leisure marketing; leisure programming.

Research Areas: delivering sport competition at the Olympic Games; the management of international sporting events; the sociology of sport; figurational sociology.

Prof Thomas Clarke (Corporate Governance)
Thomas Clarke was formerly DBM Professor of Corporate Governance at Leeds Metropolitan University where he undertook research, publishing, and consultancy and advisory roles to the business community, on corporate governance issues. He participated in the "Tomorrow's Company" Inquiry for the Royal Society of Arts, drafting the initial survey paper and directing the national conference. He is currently researching international comparative corporate governance in his role as Director of the UTS Key University Research Centre in Corporate Governance. He is engaged in an ARC funded survey of Australian boards and directors with industry partners Dibbs Barker Gosling. His most recent publication is Theories of Corporate Governance: The Philosophical Foundations (London: Routledge 2004. His advisory roles include consultant to the board of the Performing Rights Society on the governance of companies administering intellectual property.

Teaching Areas: international corporate governance, global strategic management, knowledge management.

Research Areas: global governance, changing management paradigms, knowledge management, stakeholder management, sustainable enterprise.
