The Federal Government is backing a business
that is planning to sell the secrets of
Australia's success in hosting and competing
in international sporting events. Grab(s)
of Jim Sloman, former deputy CEO of SOCOG,
who says Australia has a "unique" set of
skills; Federal MP Pat Farmer, who says
such expertise is in demand overseas; Shane
Mattiske, National Rugby League, who says
Australians have often looked overseas for
professional development; Leighton Wood,
Sport Knowledge Australia, who says the
AFL's talent identification system is an
example of best practice; Brian Bagshaw,
Sydney Olympic Park, who says Sport Knowledge
Australia is well-placed to take advantage
of growth.
