Government officials, CEOs, facility operators, project managers, event managers, builders and architects will have
the opportunity to learn, first hand, from Australia’s leading experts, how to successfully develop and manage
international level sport facilities during SKA’s March 9-14, 2006 programme at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
The Melbourne School of Sport & Recreation Management is hosting the exclusive five-day workshop, which presents an ideal
opportunity for professionals to gain valuable information on planning and construction to ongoing management, maintenance
and viability of international sport facilities. The programme is limited in numbers to ensure quality of experience for
participants, so interested parties will need to register early to ensure a seat.
Eighteen renowned presenters will engage participants in a comprehensive examination of the conception, planning, design,
construction, establishment and operation of major sport facilities.
"This is a great opportunity to interact with leading designers and managers of international-standard sport facilities,"
says SKA’s Academic Programme Director, Dr. Paul Jonson.
The five-day workshop will precede the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and Melbourne 2006 Grand Prix event and will
be held at Melbourne’s Sports and Aquatic Centre, a major site of the Commonwealth Games. The programme also provides
opportunities for significant networking with leading industry professionals.
