An SKA scholarship, designed to assist those in sport who face particular challenges - women, disabled and indigenous - is certain to be a popular asset in helping those associated to manage their sports and their athletes to the highest standards.

An inaugural recipient of the scholarship was Tony Naar, the National Technical Director of the Australian Paralympic Committee. He had this to say about his learning experience, "The Elite Coaching Symposium in November 2005 gave me the opportunity to learn from, and share ideas with, some of Australia's best coaches in a range of sports."

"The program was stimulating and revitalising – with a great mix of innovative concepts and established best practice. There is no doubt the course assisted me to better support the coaches of Australia’s Paralympic athletes."

Scholarship applicants can apply to access any of SKA’s residential programmes at half the normal cost. Available to the scholarship holders are the following programmes - Executive Sport Management, Elite Sport Coaching, Winning Off The Field - Management of Professional Sport, Optimising Physical Performance and Major Event Management.

To be eligible, candidates must work in an area directly related to the promotion of women’s, disabled or indigenous sport. They must fit the profile that SKA expects of participants in that they will be of a level of status and experience for them to benefit optimally in a personal sense and be able to contribute to classes.

SKA adheres to a stringent screening of participants to ensure a high level of learning.

Scholarship applicants should fill out the normal online course application form, simply select the scholarship category being applied for, and fill out the section justifying your inclusion within the category selected.

Applicants will be notified approximately six weeks prior to course commencement date of status of application.
