The Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand (SMAANZ) and Sport Knowledge Australia (SKA) are conducting an international sport management case study competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in sport management programs in universities throughout Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Teams of up to 4 students are invited to submit written responses to a case study provided by SMAANZ and SKA. Teams will have one week to respond to the case study and submit their entry via email to the competition coordinator.

A panel of judges will assess each submission and invite up to five teams (maximum of three teams from Asia, one from Australia, and one from New Zealand) to attend the case study competition final to be held in Sydney, Australia on Friday 27 April 2007. Sport Knowledge Australia will pay the return airfares to Sydney of two members from each team.

At the final, each team will be provided with a further problem to solve in relation to the original case study. Teams will have four hours to develop a PowerPoint presentation that they will deliver to a panel of judges comprising representatives from SMAANZ and SKA.

Finalists receive funding support to attend the final and a certificate of achievement. In addition, the winning team members each receive free membership to SMAANZ for 2007, a certificate of achievement, and a plaque.
