Overview
This professional development workshop programme is designed for experienced athlete welfare and development managers. The focus of this programme is on higher order athlete development management skills and to provide the opportunity for full and lengthy exchanges among the participants to allow the growth of ideas and enhance practice in this challenging area. Workshops and discussions will focus on the roles of the player development manager; identifying and influencing key stakeholders; counselling strategies; dealing with distractions and deviations; athlete identity; and current and future issues in athlete and career development and management.
