Overview

The staging of a major event is an enormous challenge that can leave long lasting legacies for a city and its community. The Major Event Management Programme is designed to provide state of the art insights from internationally recognised experts on the entire process: from idea to major sport event delivery to legacy. The course will be held in Melbourne, which was named the world’s top city for hosting major sports events, in a survey by London consulting firm ArkSports.

This is a six-day intensive residential programme that will bring the very best knowledge and experience anywhere in the world, from those who have conceptualised, identified, bid for, implemented, marketed, financed, enhanced, risk managed and evaluated major sport events including: Atlanta, Sydney, and Athens Olympic Games; 2003 Rugby World Cup; 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games; 2007 FINA World Championships as well as participated in Bid Teams for Doha 2006, Beijing 2008, Delhi 2010 and London 2012.
